Thank goodness its Saturday!

Yesterday was 'shot 12', and the cumulative effect is starting to catch up with me. I have been feeling pretty good until yesterday, now I'm getting a bit tired and the nausea is more prevalent (but managable!) 18 shots and counting down!

5 down, 25 to go

This week has been OK considering last week left me a little worried about the side effects.  Everything seems to have settled down and side effects are being managed well.  Just a little tired, but otherwise getting on with things in a relaxed manner.

2 down and 28 to go

Radiotherapy has started, and side effects seem to have kicked in immediately.  Nausea especially.  Oh well, can't dodge that bullet forever!  I will be going to radiotherapy every working day for another 28 days and simply hoping (and praying) that I can manage the side effects.  Bring on March 23rd!

First radiotherapy day today

First day of radiotherapy is today, shifted from yesterday because the machine wasn't working or something (?) Six weeks (30 hits) coming up, every working day.  I'm not complaining that the start day got pushed back one day as an extra day 'feeling well' is welcomed.  Spent the day with my very good friend Jo - had a lazy wander around the shops - window shopping, then a delicious lunch at the Coonabarra Cafe.
Jessica starting school has been all consuming ,,,, and she and I are both tired.  It's been nice being the school mum.

Jessica's first day of school today

It was Jessica's first day of school and she loved it!

This week I have started the "planning" process for radiotherapy - got the tatoo's to prove it.  Renal test on Thursday, as collateral damage can be assumed - gonna nuke a small bit of one of the kidneys as well.

Starting radiotherapy next Wednesday the 9th Feb - I will go to the SAN every working day for approx 5-6 weeks.

Tissue typing came back - my sister is a match, so worst case if radiotherapy doesn't work, I've got another stem cell transplant option.  Fingers crossed and lots of praying that I'll be done with cancer treatment at the end of radiotherapy and will be "getting on with a normal cancer FREE life" pretty soon.
